Fun fact: It's still blazing hot here in Orange County. Yep, under that fabulous wool hat was a VERY sweaty head. It's October now (!!) and this outfit is still 3 parts summer-- sandals, white pants, tank. I'm not happy about it but, you know, survival. So I had to at least throw on this hat in an attempt to remind myself that this IS, in fact, the most wonderful time of the year. The weather has to reflect that soon, RIGHT?! ::Checks weather on iPhone. Says 99 degrees next 2 days. Dies::

Moroccan All Around

Embroidery, mirrors, and tassles- oh my! This top speaks to my soul like few others have. It makes me feel like I have a piece of something exotic and cultural, even though I didn't get it while traveling foreign lands. No sir, I got it via a few clicks of a mouse and the miracle of UPS. But that doesn't make it any less magical if you ask me.

I decided to balance out the boyish-ness of this loose top and baseball cap with a miniskirt and stilettos for a funky daytime look. And then, since I had big plans to go nowhere, I switched it out for a pencil skirt and statement necklace for a dressier evening look!

Summer in September

The trademark SoCal September heat wave has rudely barged in over the past week or so making it IMPOSSIBLE to get dressed or put on makeup. When it's 100+ degrees, I essentially give myself a free pass to "hibernate" inside and loaf around in as little clothing as possible. Hence, no blog posts. I finally sucked it up a couple days ago and threw on this simple, comfortable look. It's all thin and loose and pretty much as good as it gets in these circumstances. 

And just for fun (and because I'm hopelessly indecisive), I tried it with this top too:

This was before my sister Monica's bridal shower! She is getting married in TEN days and we are all so excited. I wore this Corey Lynn Calter skirt because it's the happiest thing I own. Monica and I have always had this thing where we end up accidentally matching each other-- sometimes it's too much and one of us has to change but this just looked well-planned! SISTERS 4 LIFE.

WELL, let me first apologize for the lack of posts lately. August has been the never-ending month of insanity.

This shoot took place after a long, very busy day at the shop. There are so many cute brick alleys in the Orange Circle and I had my mom with me so we took advantage before the sun went down. I feel like my outfits always sort of fall apart by the end of those days-- something is bound to go awry-- but this one totally held it together. I just love how delicate and intricate this top is, and I'm even wearing a new necklace for once in my life! I'm a real bore when it comes to jewelry, if you haven't noticed.

Cheers to tomorrow being the first day of September! It's bound to be a much better month. Bring on the pumpkin spice stuff, my sister's WEDDING, 2 visits from Robin, and the start of a new job. Woo!

I love this dress- it sold out in just a couple hours at the shop! That's been one of my favorite things about being a store manager/shopgirl/buyer: getting first dibs. We're going through a serious transition right now with our little store and I've got to say, it's pretty stressful. I'm just thankful I've got my dogs, my loved ones, and BLTs (yes, the sandwich).

The Front Tuck

I don't normally like to wear short skirts but the colors and print on this one were too good to pass up. As for the top, I'm all about the effortless "front-tuck" to keep an outfit like this from looking too put-together. It's always nice to add some sort of sloppy, hobo-ey touch to a look. Gives it character.

Good Day Sunshine

I love how light and summery this crop top is. I'd been waiting until I got the perfect high-waisted jeans to wear it and here they are! Bless these jeans- for not only do they add a few inches of leg-illusion on the bottom, but also on the top. Trickery, man. It's what fashion is all about.

And oh yeah, Robin & I got a new pup! Meet Jenny! 

Can you even handle her?! I can't. I am this close to Baby Bjorn-ing her ass 24/7. I need that fluff with me at all times!
